Connect a Frigate server
In the app, choose Frigate NVR on the first setup screen.
If you already run Frigate, Captured Motion uses its cameras, motion and clips directly.
Before you connect
- Note Frigate’s address, e.g. http://192.168.1.20:5000.
- If Frigate has authentication on, create a viewer user for the app, or use an API token.
- For live video, enable restreams in Frigate’s go2rtc config so rtsp://FRIGATE-HOST:8554/camera_name exists for each camera.
- In Captured Motion pick Frigate NVR, enter the address and login, and connect.
What the app asks for
| Frigate URL | http or https address with the port. |
|---|---|
| Authentication | Optional: username and password, or a bearer token. |
If it does not connect
| Cameras listed but no live view | Restreams are not enabled; add the camera to go2rtc streams in Frigate’s config. |
